Usually Brushy Mountain offers free shipping to those east of the Mississippi in December. Look for the ad in the major bee publications. May not happen this year, but it has the past four. Great way to get your woodenware with plenty of time to bui…

Ann, WOW!!! The transformation you've created is breathtakingly gorgeous. Very impressive! Your stone mason friend is very talented as well. What a wonderful garden.

That really is beautiful. I almost wish you had not posted the pictures because I am already thinking of a spot in my front yard that would lend itself to something like this. Thanks for the inspiration.

Ditto on the no chemical growing. I'm familiar with Fairfield Glade, my niece and hubby had a place there for a number of years. ( if it's the same place ) I only know of the one. I'm glad you like our state, I hope you visit often. If you ever c…

I've been an organic gardener for years, no chemicals here :) I've been in my home now for 31 years, four years ago we had to upgrade our septic system, which meant totally changing the back yard, that used to be a shady oasis. Now the back yard is…

WOW...great job Ann. The layout is beautiful and the plant choices look stunning. I've been in The Rusty Rooster...we have a place between us and Franklin called Rooster Tails...awesome garden art there too. Your plants all look very healthy. Are…

Ann, This is so lovely - I am sure it will bring you much pleasure, and to those folks walking down the road :)

Robert (my stone mason friend) and I designed it. I knew what I wanted, sort of, the quadrants with the circle in the middle, but he made it work, he added the flourishes and made it look as though it was square and all even, but it isn't. His eye f…

Ann, I love these pics!! I'm a big fan of formal gardens. It's amazing to see the transformation of this area and realize all the hard work and expense that went into it. Did you design it yourself? Did you choose the herbs and plants to go in it? I…

Another Note: For some reason, photos always post opposite of how you load them, so the first is last and the last first. When I figured that out, I changed how I upload pics. Of course, now I like keeping photo albums, and in the albums, I can put the pics in any arrangement I like.

Ann, try again. Just click on the camera once. A box should appear. It will let you browse your files for photos or add a url. Just try again. Maybe your keys are sensitive or something. Take a deep breath first! Maybe you're just having a bad karma moment. I'll send positive, supportive thoughts your way while you try again.

Hi Ann. It's really easy to post pictures. Just above the comment box is a menu: B I U S, etc. To the right of the S is the icon for including a link in the comment box. To the right of that is a camera icon for posting a picture directly into the box. To the right of that is an icon for uploading a document into the comment box.

If you want to include a link do this (which I only recently learned myself):
Type something like "see photo here." Highlight the word "here". Click on the "link" icon and input the URL when the link box appears. (Cut and paste works best for me.) Hit OK. You will see the url string in the comment box around the word "here". But when you click on the "add comment" button, all you will see is the word "here" which is the click on link to the photo. Does that make sense?
Example:
You can see my KGI member page here.
Good luck! I really want to see the photos of your formal garden!

Hi Ann, I'm sorry, I hadn't fully understood your question about "comment on your profile" Dru McClure left comments on numerous people's pages, The comment invited you to go to a pay web site featuring sex web cams. I recieved several complaints from members and he was banned from all "NING" based communities within hours. It would be good if I could change the exit page to explain why you are being bounced away, but at the moment the software simply searches for the page and when it can't find it, it returns a standard "not found" error. I'm sure you appreciate that in this instance, for the number of times I have to ban somebody, changes to the core software would be prohibitively expensive.
When I instigate a ban, the software automatically removes all posts made by that member.

I hope this helps to explain your experience.... but please, feel free to raise any issues with me, as I do have some control over what happens on the site.

Hi Letti Thanks for the info about the contaminated manure. I have not bought manure now for several years in the UK. This was since we had the foot & mouth and BSE scares. I think that municipal compost is your best bet, if you need to say bulk up…

Hi Kirsti I think the dingy idea seems feasable. Then the plants would be out of the way of day to day activities. Have you seen Margy,s floating garden pictures. Yours would be a variation on that theme.

HOW TO - ADD A LINK

Several people have experienced difficulty putting working links into comments and blogs etc and I know it is clumsy.... so here is how you do it.....

First type the text you want to appear....  ie  IAN'S PAGE

Then go back and highlight the link text.

Then hit the hyperlink button...a pictogram of a chain link.

Your browser may intervene and request permission to allow temporary scripting or some similar message.   Allow it and go back and highlight the text again

Forum Policy

Hi, I'm starting to put together a few guidlines on using the discussion forum on here.

I would be happy to hear any comments you may have.  This is very much a work in progress so plese feel free to ask me to add anything you think is needed.

I don't want to make our community hide bound by rules and regulations but I think that, as the community has grown, some explanation of what is expected is needed.
