My asparagus has been in the ground since last spring and, despite the heat and drought, is doing pretty well. I'll leave it all winter and then begin harvesting next year. I bought two year plants and won't cut the dead fronds off until February. G…

Michelle, Pardon my ignorance. I'm curious - what is corn salad? I'm here in Central Texas in the worst drought on record debating whether or not to plant anything for fall or just amend the soil and let it rest until it rains - hopefully soon.

I planted horseradish last spring because my husband loves it fresh on beef. The plant is beautiful but I know nothing about harveting or when I should do it. Any pointers woud be helpful. Thanks!

Bees and other creatures pollinate our crops. Birds and toads eat insect pests. Many animals play a helpful role in the vegetable garden. How can we make our garden friends feel at home?

This sounds really good. I will try it. It has been so hot the eggplants have stopped producing for now but I expect more for fall. Thanks!

This is a wonderful eggplant spread you can eat with crackers, or crusty bread, or pita bread. This recipe makes a large panful, part of which you can refrigerate for later. Or you can cut recipe in half to make it more manageable. You'll need: 2 m…

HOW TO - ADD A LINK

Several people have experienced difficulty putting working links into comments and blogs etc and I know it is clumsy.... so here is how you do it.....

First type the text you want to appear....  ie  IAN'S PAGE

Then go back and highlight the link text.

Then hit the hyperlink button...a pictogram of a chain link.

Your browser may intervene and request permission to allow temporary scripting or some similar message.   Allow it and go back and highlight the text again
